HOW TO MAKE THE SWITCH


Just follow these steps and begin to Experience the Difference San Luis Trust Bank offers: 

  1. Open a San Luis Trust Bank account. Our New Accounts specialists will help you choose the best account to meet your needs.

  2. Stop using your old checking account. Although do not close it until your automatic payments and direct deposits have been switched to your new San Luis Trust Bank account. Also balance your checkbook to make sure all your checks have cleared.

  3. Switch your direct deposits. Your employer, social security, or other depositors generally need a written notification to switch their direct deposit to your new account. Use our “Direct Deposit Change Form” to let them know and attach a voided check from your new San Luis Trust Bank account.

  4. Switch your automatic payments. Think about how you make each of your payments. Payments for your utility bills, membership dues, or mortgage payments. Each company needs to be notified of the account switch. Use our “Automatic Payments Form” to let them know and attach a voided check from your new San Luis Trust Bank account. Once those automatic payments are cancelled, take advantage of our free Online Banking and Bill Pay service.

San Luis Trust Bank provides the “Request to Close Account Form” to let your old bank know. Although you may want to close it in person and save yourself a cashier’s check fee.
